Poor puss, all that long hair must take a lot of grooming. He doesn't look like he particularly enjoys getting brushed.
Years ago we had a big fluffy cat that with silky fine hair, he was the best cuddler and liked to be groomed, but he was prone to matting no matter how much time we spent brushing him. Two or three times a year, we took him to the groomer for a body clip and that stopped the matting problem. He still had a full head of long hair and his big bushy tail that he loved to have brushed as part of his daily beauty regimen.
