(5,969 posts)There is only so much you can do with a topic and they did a decent job, at least as far as I watched it. I stopped watching when Negan came because I heard the show was heading towards brutal killings of the major characters. I know it happened before but this over the top attempt to get an emotional reaction is something that makes me lose interest in shows.

(56,828 posts)that Lincoln was going to leave eventually and they'd turn it into a show about Negan with Jeffrey Dean Morgan

(5,524 posts)But it might be time to wrap up that show. I still like it but don't want to see it degenerate slowly.
It blows my mind that Andrew Lincoln (and several other cast members) are British. It was a shock the first time I heard them speak out of character.

(17,862 posts)I was hoping for a time jump wrap up. Also the last episode for the past season was too ridiculous, and ruined a great opportunity.
We were kind of tired of Carl so we did not mourn his passing. I know that is heresy to some but both my wife and I were happy to lose him.

Lennie James (Morgan)
Lauren Cohan (Maggie)
David Morrissey (The Governor)
Tom Payne (Jesus)
The guy that played Nick on Fear TWD
The guy that played Travis was from New Zealand, and Alicia Debnam Carey is Australian.

(5,524 posts)Is it worth the effort? It just seemed like a poor imitation from the promos I saw.

(2,679 posts)The Walking Dead was set in the south. So I see people like that all the time and the rural scenes. So its nice that Fear was a lot of the big city and west coast vibe.

(4,267 posts)so no more 10 super close-ups of him crying every episode.

(43 posts)No, not zombie ass, the plot dead ends.
First the camp. It gets destroyed.
Then the farm. It gets destroyed.
Then the prison. It gets destroyed.
Then Woodbury. It gets destroyed.
Then Terminus. It gets destroyed.
Not to mention all the characters, who may become interesting, introduced only to be destroyed.
It's turned into zombie voyeur porn.

(56,828 posts)but, not really destroyed. I still think they should have stayed there and repaired the one damaged wall, or at least blocked it off. They had safe rooms in the jail cells, running water with the river and large open areas for planting crops and raising livestock behind the large walls.
However, good character development dropped off after first Frank Darabont (after season 1) and then Glenn Mazzarra left the show after season 3. Scott Gimple had a good knowledge of the comics and managed to get some iconic moments from the comics onto the show, but didn't seem to have the same knack for pacing, character and story development as his predecessors. Plus, I think he liked screwing with comic book fans by killing off characters that lived a lot longer in the comics (Andrea and Carl come to mind first)

(43 posts)But even then, when they lost it, it was a lame battle.
Regardless, I've gone this far so I may as well watch it to the end.

(56,828 posts)especially if he's doing well financially overall. AMC has been known to be cheap, but he's been the lead since day 1.

(56,828 posts)That's if AMC thinks the show can go beyond Andy Lincoln/Rick Grimes.
