I hope not. I can understand moving it to a more remote location, where it wouldn't be hunted or harm people and livestock. I don't like to see killing wildlife - except fire ants.

The common procedure when one is found too close to population centers is to move it to a croc farm

so they probably kept it alive. Either way, I'm sure the Aussies know what to do with it if it's a danger or just big. And man, that's a bigg'un.
