Went to see Mother(87) in the posh nursing home this AM...told her about the 2 TV funerals...
I went to see Mother(87) in the posh nursing home she resides in this AM. I had not been for 2 weeks as 2 flat tires, brake job and health issues of my own....Oh my...she was in bed on her back and couldn't even open one eye...kept licking her lips..I am in pain she kept saying,..darn brother told me nothing... she is usually all glammed up for me...she did not want company. She puts alot of this on for attention...like Trump she is a narcissist and any attention is good attention..nonetheless, it was scarey...
Sadly she was abusive to me and from the age of 2 and told me I was ugly and dumb and no man would never want me. I have an IQ of 177 and am pretty I discovered when I left her house !!So, the relationship is not a Hallmark card. All my life I begged in different ways for her to love me...sad Jody...
I am quite animated and got her going talking.....Trump, the 2 funerals, the eulogies, our local politics...... told her my opening paragraphs for my Sept letter. "When I as 7 Gary Konkol put a bee down my back"...it is about pubic dialogue.....I write letters for progressive DEMS since 2009. Good letters. She said how proud she is of me...this comes ONLY after her docs and locals told her how brilliant I am...blah..blah...
I said "Mom, people weren't so mean when we were young, we would have called them uncouth..this behavior"...My letter will also compare Dad's funeral to Aretha/McCain funerals....targeting Trump..It is all a reaction to the pig in the WH...
As I am telling her about what is going on in our world she repeated 3x "Jody, what a crazy world"...I said "Mom, consider what the other countries think of us".....As I drove away, I thought I am glad she isn't bombarded with the news....she does not watch TV...I alone among the siblings, am her very candid walking newspaper....I don't babytalk her like the other kids...but think of how these old folks depart life in the 2018 version of the USA... growing up in the Depression, her huz in WW2 and his ship bombed at 17 years of age...7 kids....Dad becoming a priest in his 40s...(he got to keep her, as he already had her..but took celibacy vows)...oh yes, we did discuss the Catholic church...sex scandals..
Perhaps next visit I will talk about something else besides politics...but then that wouldn't be me....
