(23,313 posts)and he's a master at trolling them keeping them on the phone for as long as possible. He will often use the name Hugh Janus (boys!) when speaking to these fraudsters. He is now receiving post cards at our business addressed to Mr. Hugh Janus. He will rattle off a credit card number for whatever and when the fake card number is declined his response is "shoot, it probably declined because the card is stolen" He will give several card numbers before these brain surgeons catch on. Some of these fraudsters ask him to pay his debt in iTunes gift cards! I find it bizarre that people fall for this stuff but they do I guess.

I have had my IRS debt erased for the next 150 years, I no longer have 4 serious warrants against me, my penis is 2 1/2 feet long, all of the viruses have been removed from my computer, and the widow of a Nigerian Prince just deposited $14.5 million dollars in my bank account.

We gonna get right on it. Were going to make the call right now. But dont hold your breath waiting.....LOL. Some people obviously respond to these phony calls but as much as they are reported and talked about on the news, you have to wonder why????

(11,686 posts)I did get a call from the "IRS" telling me I owed money and that I was going to be taken to court if I did not pay at that time with a credit card. I told them I need to talk to my lawyer and hung up. I then called my brother who is a tax lawyer in Portland Oregon and he said it was a scam and that people have been talking to their lawyers about it for the same reason I talked to him. What a bunch of asses.
