Jimmy Kimmel is mine. I loved Colbert when he was on Comedy Central and I still like him but Kimmel is my go-to at 10:30.

(6,709 posts)'cause when Stephen was on Comedy Central he was epic...now, not so much given the constraints of broadcast networks v cable. (sigh)

(8,066 posts)I love Colbert too but I haven't really taken to his new gig. Jimmy is very brave considering the way he's stood up for common sense guy laws and health care.

(6,831 posts)Fearless, Funny, Gifted, Musician (Piano), had a great giggle. Plus there was Louis Nye ("Hey Ho Steverino" and Don Knotts ("Nervous ? Me Nervous ?" and Carl Reiner (writing) and Sid Caeser. There was nothing too wild for him to do. By contrast today, these guys are tame. I remember Steve jumped into a vat of Jello just because he wanted to know what it would feel like. He was always doing stuff like that.

(205,731 posts)These days, I need all the humor I can get! But I also miss David Letterman. I was in his studio audience back in 2008 and he was not only funny, but he was also terrific to his audience.

(10,885 posts)Liked Letterman in his day, and sometimes miss him.
Colbert has done a great job with his inheritance from Letterman, especially in these tRumpian days.

(12,132 posts)I watch TDS and I like Trevor a lot but I don't consider that a talk show. I miss Dave.
It's not that I dont like the new guys. Colbert is a wonderful hist and I love Kimmel and used to watch him a lot. But none of them are Dave. I just cant work up the interest to watch them every night like I did for David Letterman.
I go to sleep with Bob's Burgers most nights.

(4,125 posts)His physical comedy is top shelf and hes got such great rapport with everyone he interviews. So quick in his thinking and his prepared bits are always played with the right amount of camp.

Seth Meyers. I should say that I have liked all of the ones mentioned above, though. I should also say that I don't watch the shows like talk shows were once watched. I see clips on the Internet. If I watch anything at that time, it's of political news shows I missed earlier - there is not enough time to watch all of everyone's show. I used to like Letterman more than Leno. That was a big "Which do you prefer?" question, years ago...
