someone changed shoes, possibly because they just bought a new paid, and left the old ones on top of the car. i personally never put anything on top of the car, but i've seen people put all sorts of things on top of their car -- purses, drinks, fast food, groceries, etc.
then they drive off. the shoes stay there a while but don't last long once they reach highway speeds. and the two shoes don't fall off at the same time.
