I think Fear The Walking Dead had a chance. Not so sure anymore, even though I thought they finished this past season really strong storywise.

Negan wants to die. He's opening the wound, talking about Glenn.

Yup. Thought so. No way he survives that much loss of blood. Now it's just a question if he becomes zombified.

The "Rick flies away on a helicopter" thing was a bit of a cop-out, but we saw that before with Glenn's saved-by-dumpster near death. So I was not too surprised. I thought death was the most likely scenario for him because I didn't see retiring to The Villages as a viable option for the Zombie Apocalypse. Still.....

If he was going to survive a rebar impalement, probably the leg would have been a more realistic choice. They had that rod going right through a bunch of vital organs.

Having a bunch of dynamite on the bridge seemed sort of random. I suppose you could say that it was there as a failsafe for that very purpose, though.

No, the Rick thing was kinda par for the course.

The WTFery for me was the whole "Judith Grimes" thing.

It just seemed so bizarre to the point where I wondered if I was dreaming that post-episode preview.

I mean, I suppose if your mother figure is a bad ass like Michonne, she might do a better job as raising you as a bad ass than most parents. Still, the way it got depicted just seemed rather hacky and silly.

As it was, I had found the last season or two to be dragging the show down. While I applaud the effort Joe Manganiello put into Negan, having such an obnoxious, overbearing bad guy foist upon you in the Trump era just was sort of a bummer in general. Nonetheless, I kept faithful to the show, and it even remained in my premier show watching event mode. (Where I retreat to my mancave/kid's gameroom late at night and sit back and enjoy, sometimes with a nice beverage in hand). I'll still tune in to see where this Judith stuff goes, but I don't think it will be the same.

I was a reader of the The Walking Dead comics and the upcoming storyline there was a group called The Whisperers. I just got turned off right at the start of that storyline in the comics and eventually dropped reading the comics - they wear the skins and guts of walkers on a more or less permanent basis and control/herd large groups of walkers. They've also regressed socially, and seemingly mentally as well. (The leader is a woman dubbed "Alpha&quot

I just didn't find it very realistic. Granted, there is a zombie apocalypse that happened, so "realistic" is relative. But, given the previous groups of bad guys (The Governor, The Saviors, etc) were at least feasible, IMHO, I thought the Whisperers were just too out there for me.

So, I stopped reading the comics, even though Carl supposedly has a great story arc in it.

The Commonwealth storyline seems a bit more realistic to me - a community of 50,000 or so gathered together in an attempt to rebuild society. (speculation is that Georgie is from there on the show...the woman that gave Maggie a "how to" manual on medieval technology)

The Judith in Hat is ridculous.

Either there is a story about the characters I'm attached to or it's over.

Not unless they managed to build immunities to the germs that come from being in close proximity to rotting flesh.

Commonwealth storyline might be interesting. How did they manage to keep Negans, Governors, and Wolves outside their borders? And is the word "moisture" used by the denizens?

I think we should be told.

A child of Rick's (or Shane) who has been raised by Michonne AND Carol (Or survived Carol, for that matter) has a story arc worth following.

The writers were very smart. We were all tired of the same character mistakes and lessons-learned repeated. The one thing that was taboo for a "Walking DEAD" theme was, what happened if these dead men walking actually managed to tweak out civilization? What if the place was suddenly safe for the Dales, the Tyrones and the Mika's? What would that world look like, because it would require a bit more awareness than the civilized world we live in.

I'm in for another season.

Maybe they should be looking for the next great concept. Rick Grimes really is not that compelling.
