What a hoot! It beats Michael Douglas' story about Bob Dylan's dog eating his caviar.

(12,509 posts)I was always amazed at all the giant boulder fields they would run their horses through. It got me thinking that the entire wild west was nothing but rocks and boulder fields. All in B&W so my Dad's B&W TV was just fine.

(7,511 posts)I realized he was teaching us so much. Everything we fight today he tried to tell us. Womens rights, racism, greed. I'm in my 70s and I never realized back then how much he was actually guiding as he entertained.

Several times a week she would play classical pieces that students requested. Whenever someone would ask for The Lone Ranger, she would ask for the real name of the music.

(53,410 posts)She would teach her kids the names of the authors who wrote the childrens books and would tell them to go get a book written by so-and-so. The kids always returned with the correct books.
She also put up the alphabet pictures in random sequence so they really learned the letters as individual things and not as the sing song running chant. That worked too.
She taught herself to read before she ever attended school, so I figure she was on to something.
