The dog went back to the washer because that's the last place he could smell his bear's smell. This other thing just smells like laundry soap, but it will have to do.

That is incredibly cute!

I was collecting items for a church yard sale that I was coordinating--years ago--and the bear was in the pile. Before I had noticed, he plucked it from pile and made it out the door. I let him keep it, and he carries it around and has slept on/with "Teddy" ever since. He doesn't sit by the washer, but I rarely wash it (only when he slips it outside without me noticing).
