Retirement Plans Changed A Little

As some of you might remember, i had plans to do substitute teaching in science and math upon my retirement in 30 days.

Well, that's on hold, because the company offered me a pretty lucrative package to stay on as a consultant. I get to decide what days i come in, i decide whether i'm working 3, 4, 5, or 6 hours, and the pay is 5 or 6x what subbing would get me.

And, since i only live 8.5 miles away, the likelihood of having a shorter drive than going to a HS or Jr High somewhere in the 2 counties is about 90%.

Not sure how long i'll do this, but the project they're asking me to oversee is pretty interesting.

Substitute teaching Marine about the same as when he was salary - depending on how many days he teaches.

I did not even solicit this. They came to me. So, doubleplusgood. (Sorry to use that in this Orwellian era.)
