(31,999 posts)The speakers on our TV set must be crap, because I have a hard time making out each spoken word. Granted, I have hearing loss as well, which only makes it worse. And I hate to ask everyone to listen to a loud blasting TV.
My husband set it up so I can listen to the TV wearing audio head phones and that is wonderful, I can hear every word and they can have normal volume.
Although I don't have Iron Maiden competing with the TV here like you do, lol

(21,946 posts)and has a set of headphones to listen with. You adjust the volume on the headphones.
I have a set and I can hear the t.v. when it's muted or has the sound on. (We have 2 t.v.s a his and hers. He likes sports and boxing and I like science and other stuff. Mine is muted with the headphones and his is with volume. I can't hear his anyway so we get along great.
You'll never regret it. I can hear it with the hearing aids, but much better with the headphone set.

This was a reason why I stopped watching Elementary. It was dark, the hero spoke in a soft voice and I found myself nodding..
