Seems like every restaurant served their steak like that. Not anymore...

(5,914 posts)It's pork chops that go with apples. Steak has always gotten a baked potato and/or a vegetable medley.

I prided myself in my plating.
We also tossed the house salad tableside!
That's why it irks me to have different people take the order and bring the food. Each of my tables was my own little domain for the 1 1/2 hour or so they were seated in my section. I was an independent entrepreneur, my tips relied on how I did. I paid my busser a percentage; always rewarding good work!

(24,259 posts)Then they switched the parsley for a sad bit of raw kale and the cinnamon apple disappeared. As a kid the lovely deep red cinnamon apple ring and crispy parsley were like special treats to me.
I discovered cinnamon apple rings at the grocery store year ago so now those and parsley can be enjoyed at home occasionally. It's not the same but I can close my eyes and memories of a happy simpler time replay in my mind like a comforting old familiar tune.
