I've got my new knee!

Got to the hospital at 6AM, surgery at 8, woke about 10, in the room by 11.

Pain management has been great, once they figured that morphine drip leaked out onto the bed. All the medical personnel are terrific, ready to help and answer all my questions. I'm really surprisedat how alert I am. I know I wasn't after my previous surgeries!

Tomorrow I won't be so cheerful - physical therapy starts.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you'll find your physical therapists to be some
of the nicest, most positive people you'll ever meet in health care situation.
.
Mine were -- and they were ALL psyched about the good they did for and with
people every day!!!

He used to work at the PT center I went to after all my previous surgeries. Everybody there was really good and got me back doing stuff really fast.

California Peggy was right - you would need your tablet in the hospital!

Congrats and glad you're doing so well post-op!

Lots of pt, evaluations to get me in the rehab hospital. I was transferred Friday, same routine reversed -lots of evaluations and pt. Apparently there will be more on Monday. I've had it easy, coming in at the end of the week.

I only had thre rehab secessions today, it being the weekend.

But the muscles they abused to get it in are weaker than they were. It's getting better everyday!

It's going good - I'm getting good with the walker, though every patient has a wheelchair to use in between.

Wow, that was quick!

I was thinking about you yesterday, and today, and hoping we would soon hear from you........

And here you are!

I'm thrilled that everything is going well! And I'm not a bit surprised, either!

PT won't be awful...it really feels pretty good to get out of bed, and discover you can still walk!

You'll see above why I haven't posted for a few days.

My worst problem so far with the PT here at the rehab hospital is that I have been pushing a little too hard. They're describing me as "motivated". I also underestimate me pain level - if i can stay conscious, it's under five.
