8. I remember...

I once took my pom to an indoor swimming pool after our walk. Asked the attendance to watch her while I took a dip. Annie became very agitated and escaped him, ran to the edge of the pool, probed for the water but couldn't reach it, said a prayer and hurled her little body into the unknown and swam to me. I later realized all she could see was my head, so she needed to find the rest of me. She was a hero! When I told my vet, he was surprised she could swim. He said toys weren't good swimmers! Double hero!
