When I heard this song for the first time, I could have sworn it's an old song I heard decades ago. Well, that could be because it samples "Wait a minute Mr. Postman". Or maybe it's the reference to 1966. ETA: It's from 2017

(6,261 posts)I don't like most modern music, but I almost feel as though I've known this song all my life.

(21,646 posts)Part of the inspiration for John Gourley for the album was finding his dads old Woodstock ticket and talking to his dad about what should go on the next album , which then became Woodstock
Number One opens the album with the actual recording of Ritchie Havens from Woodstock x Freedom , and has r&b singer Son Little on that PTM song .
Check him out too
I saw PTM @ a multi day music event , they add a lot of recognizable tributes to many old bands and they put on a great concert imo

I'd literally never heard of the band or the song before, but as I said, I thought I'd known this song for years. The google search on the lyrics returned this one. That was unexpected.
