So what is this thing?
And here I thought photos were going to be some monstrous electrical being!

(182,789 posts)I stopped and read it and then read it to my wife. I don't know if it's just CYA but we will have to keep it in mind if her father visits.

(182,789 posts)Actually I bought a pair for a dollar where I got these at Harbor Freight. Running in the cold in the morning really is rough on my eyes. We'll see.

On the OUTSIDE. Oh that is just so funny to me.
I actually bought it because I thought it would be funny to mount as a light in my car. It has Velcro too.

We figure that must have happened or there wouldn't be a warning.

(182,789 posts)Went in there to get sandpaper (Dollar General next door had it cheaper) and walked out with 5 pairs of scissors, safety glasses ironically, a garden hose sprayer thing, sandpaper, and a pop up light that can with batteries all for $21.
I had to go back and buy two ammo cans for $18. One plastic.. one actuall metal military grade ammo can.

(17,984 posts)I'm not knocking HF because I still shop there, but only for very specific items. That light seems like one of those weird impulse items you'd find at the checkout counter. And I have gone through plenty of those kind of items...

(182,789 posts)Yeah the are sketchy but they are pretty cheap on some power tools.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)Normally, I would never buy a power tool from HF, but I wanted a small, cheap angle grinder. I found a 4" grinder at HF for $20 and bought it thinking it would last one project. Not only do I still use it all the time, but I actually had to dig it out again after my super duper DeWalt grinder seized on me after only a couple months.
I think the moral of the story is that HF is hit or miss on quality control. I must have gotten very lucky with my little grinder.

(182,789 posts)The guy at Lowe's tipped us off about harbor freight. It was $24 I think.
Day before hosting Christmas, my father in law and I were in the crawl space under the house (cold rain) replacing the drain from the kitchen sink/dishwasher. 95% blockage from all the years of waste.
I use it to cut stuff up all the time. From dismantling a swing set to building a little storage thing for my lawnmower.
