I absolutely despise HSBC bank. Every time they contact me, I post that somewhere.

Get out if you're there. Get into a local credit union. hsbc are scum, they are liars, they are hopelessly running their "customer no service" from india where no one knows anything about banking or customers or how anything there works. They run you in circles and never admit they're idiots.

Get. Out. Now.

Years ago my brother closed on a mortgage with them. My brother was a relatively young home buyer, and they hid the fact that his mortgage was a balloon mtg, and he was shocked as hell when it came due. The shady loan officer was married to his RE lawyer.

They have also been involved in laundering drug money into the states from mexico. (See episode 4 of Dirty Money on Netflix)
