...hearing him is one thing, seeing him was a whole new ballgame.

During "I Been Hoodood," there was a woman moving slowly across the stage with a giant white python draped across her shoulders. You see something like that and it leaves a permanent impression.

And he was in full on high priest Gris Gris mode. Nobody thought he was crazy because nobody thinks anybody’s crazy but he was a sight to see.

He was just always there. Some bar, some fine foolishness. He got better and better with age. And in some ways it’s a miracle he managed to live through those days.

Damn I’m going to miss that man.
