Didn't like each other, couldn't work out who was alpha I guess, didn't like me or most anyone else.

Only tolerated my aunt. I am not saying the all chihuahuas are disagreeable little sh(ts but these were.

LOL! My sister had one and it for some reason loved me. Probably because early on I would let it sleep in the bed with me and it would crawl around my head trying to get comfortable before settling half way on my face and the bed. The kids called it my girlfriend and when I was holding her no one else could touch her or she would snap at them. Loved that dog! It's gone now.

The only serious dog bite I ever got was from my sister's Chihuahua. He attacked the female of a pair of Doberman pinschers. The male went after the Chihuahua, but he was too fast for it. The owner, our neighbor, grabbed one of the Dobermans, somebody grabbed the other, and I tried to grab the Chihuahua,

The little bastard bit me and punched right through the nail on my left thumb. I did manage to sort of hold on to him for a few minutes, but when I let him go - or he wiggled loose because of the blood from my hand - he went back after the Dobermans. It's amazing the little dog didn't get himself killed many times over since in those days and in that neighborhood, no one leashed or penned up their pets.

The Dobermans didn't last very many years, but I don't know what happened to them. The Chihuahua disappeared at about 21 years of age. Mom offered a reward to the neighborhood kids if they found him dead or alive, but no one ever found him. He may have been eaten by the alligator that lived in the pond next to our house.

American Eskimos, tall and short, are wonderful, intelligent, loyal independent friends.

She has Shih Tzu markings and likes to burrow under covers, rarely barks and has been easy to train. But, the older she gets, the more ferocious she acts. I have been bitten many times. Chihuahuas are known for having dental problems. That's the good news. She's lost many teeth, as she's aged, so the bites don't really hurt. But she's truly fierce. I love her with all my heart.
