5. Just saw 2 progs on this topic that are just flat out amazing - still streaming

on pbs.org. 8 Days to the moon is a recreation of the 1st moon landing, Chasing the Moon is multi part series, has way more depth about entire space program and race to the moon, incl soviet efforts - stories & details that haven't been told before.

Warning - be sure to have a box of Kleenex on hand. Just left me feeling unexpectedly emotional, a mixture of pride and joy combined with a profound sense of "what the hell happened to us." How can a country and planet which accomplished this feat of science and engineering fail to go forward and accomplish other great things - like developing safe renewable energy source for one...
