We used to fly "student stand by" in 1969, reeking of patchouli oil.

Portland, Oregon to San Francisco.
The three of us had long hair and pack backs. You could fly for about
$28 bucks then. A buddy from Menlo picked us up and we stayed with
him at his college. A trip to the Fillmore for some music. Then we'd buy
"soles" of Lebanese hash, in little drawstring bags with official looking
stamps. And a jar of white crosses.
Fly back to Oregon. I'll never understand why that college expelled me.
Must have been the girl in my dorm room.
