The Impossible Whopper is coming to every Burger King in America next week

https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/01/business/impossible-whopper-national/index.html

New York (CNN Business)Burger King will start selling its meatless Whopper across the United States on August 8, the biggest rollout for Impossible's plant-based product.

The burger chain has been selling the Impossible Whopper, featuring a meatless patty made by Impossible Foods, in a few markets in the United States since April. It first tested the product in St. Louis before announcing in May that it would offer the Impossible Whopper nationally this year.

Interest in plant-based protein has surged as many people try to reduce their meat intake for health or environmental reasons. US retail sales of plant-based foods have grown 11% in the past year, according to a July report from trade group Plant Based Foods Association and the Good Food Institute, a nonprofit that supports plant-based businesses.

The Impossible Whopper has been performing well, Chris Finazzo, Burger King's president for the Americas, told CNN Business.

Not sure I'll try it, but I do like their low-carb whopper (bunless whopper topping salad). nt woodsprite Aug 2019 #1
Interesting. While I rarely frequented, I've never seen that on the menu. Is it new? hlthe2b Aug 2019 #5
It's not on the menu at all in our Burger King, but they do have a key for it woodsprite Aug 2019 #6
So, they put mayo and ketchup on it? hlthe2b Aug 2019 #8
Not usually, but you can ask them to. I usually get a packet of ranch with it. nt woodsprite Aug 2019 #9
I've never heard of this, I try to eat low carb when I can. blueinredohio Aug 2019 #12
A burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, plus a squirt of mayo and ketchup if you ask. woodsprite Aug 2019 #15
Thank you I may give it a try next time I go to burger king. blueinredohio Aug 2019 #19

on the register. I usually add an extra side salad to get some more veggies in.

Soooo, when I'm being "good", I'll get a the low-carb whopper and unsweetend iced tea. When I'm having a really hectic day at work, I'll ruin the whole thing by adding an apple pie slice to it Hey, at least it's fruit!

If you don't get the extra side salad, the lettuce is a bit skimpy since it's only what would be on the sandwich.

I haven't tried asking for a Big Mac in a bowl at McDonalds. I'll have to give that a try. If I get a Big Mac, I take the middle bun out along with half the dressing.

McDonald's and Burger King are the 2 fast food places close enough to work to grab something if you only have 15-20 min. or so for lunch. We're supposed to get an hour, but some days my husband and I have a full day of meetings that are scheduled back-to-back.

America made Burger King’s Board of Directors filthy rich but that wasn’t enough. They wanted more, more, more.......so they fled to Canada.

Tax money, ideally, goes toward the betterment of the nation. But wait, we can’t afford to repair lead tainted pipes, deteriorating roads and on and on, because we fall to the fallacy of “trickle down economics” - the belief that poor people will get rich by giving rich people more money. Now there’s a crock if I ever heard one.

No BK for me. Not now. Not ever.

We have one fairly close and we do eat fast food from time to time but we skip that. As the others have just gone to crap, rancid tasting fries and dry buns and watered down drinks we hear that Burger King has gotten better. Still a nope. We mention it to others but they just shrug and say, "It tastes so much better than the other places." Go home and make something. It is not that hard or carry a lunch. What is it with every thing has to be easier and faster anymore?

Anyway, as a vegetarian who had to eat some chicken for the past few years because of a serious GI problem, I really could not eat much else, I find the entire concept of a veggie burger that "bleeds" disgusting.

They said they were having supply problems.

I’ve tried the Impossible Burger a couple of times, and it is delicious. The Beyond Burger doesn’t taste nearly as good, but you can get them in the stores and elsewhere. I really hope IP can ramp up enough.
