Market Force is back with their annual look at Americas favorite fast food chains, polling over 7,600 consumers, then honing in on how satisfied they were with their most recent visit and whether they would recommend the brand to others. Compared to the 2018 list, plenty stayed the same, but a few significant switches occurred, too.Starting with what you may already have guessed: The burger, chicken, and Mexican categories all featured returning champions from last year thanks to three chains that are proven to have devout followings: In-N-Out, Chick-fil-A, and Chipotle. The only movement among these brands is that, for 2019, Chick-fil-A locked down the highest overall score, dethroning last years overall king, In-N-Out.
Meanwhile, the biggest movement came in the sandwich and pizza departments. After garnering headlines as the top sandwich shop last year, Wawa has slipped down to the number three spot in the category with Jersey Mikes jumping to number one. Firehouse Subs watched the two chains play leapfrog as it held down its second-place finish. And in the pizza category, Blaze Pizza came out of nowhere to win literally. Blaze didnt even appear on last years survey. And ironically enough, last years number one, Pizza Ranch, didnt earn enough votes to qualify for this years survey. Go figure.
Market Force looked at two other categories as well: For coffee and bakery chains, Krispy Kreme was a clear favorite over its top competition, Panera and Starbucks. And in the frozen dessert and smoothie group, Culvers ranked first over other top options including Cold Stone Creamery, Baskin-Robbins, and Dairy Queen. And McDonalds once again came in last among the 14 burgers chains evaluated in the poll, grabbing a paltry score of 29 percent a full 45 points below In-N-Outs 73 percent score. McDonalds constantly ranks towards the bottom of customer satisfaction surveys but first in sales, so clearly theres something about consumer habits that these polls fail to capture.

(2,980 posts)Theres a bigger picture. You know that. Health care would be much more affordable if Americans ate better food.

(33,643 posts)That is a serious stretch.
More importantly, their food is of okay quality, but still manages to taste terrible ... their recipes for everything ... suck. Their beans, their rice, their meat marinades/rubs, their salsa's ... I even hate the seasoning on their chips.
I seriously can't stand that place.
Qdoba isn't all that much more authentic, but tastes much better IMHO.
Mostly though if I want Mexican I go to an actual Taqueria, run by Mexicans. It's not even like you save money going to Chipotle.

(182,829 posts)My daughter said that a few years ago as we listened to a news story about the ID hack. From that to all the food poisoning- no thanks. Never thought it was all that different or remarkable to start with.

In-and-Out is a burger chain in the Southwest and the Pacific coast.

In-N-Out? Not in my market.
Chick-fil-A? One in market 15 miles away.
Wawa? Never heard of it.
Moe's? Never heard of it.
Blaze Pizza? Never heard of it.

(25,183 posts)but Chik-fil-A earns its high ratings. I've never had less than a great experience at every one I've ever been to, and we have lots of them south of the Mason-Dixon line.

(66,387 posts)The rest of the candidates split the vote among patrons who aren't shitheads.
So, if you like shitty chicken and places that print Bible verses on paper that gets burger grease on it and then thrown away, go for it.
