To throw in my own PSA: watch out for the toxic algae, folks. I was shocked to hear it is even here in Colorado. I wouldn't let my dogs swim in any standing water right now. Streams are fine, so I'm told.

a woman recently lost all 3 of her dogs in one day due to toxic pond water. You can't always see it.

And it only takes one or two "licks" to kill. She also said that some water that has visible algae but it is not toxic. You just don't know. I'm keeping my two out of the water for the remaining summer, except some public swimming pools will be open around Labor Day for the puppers.
