Pet Peeve: People on the phone asking for some info, then cutting you off b/c they don't have a pen

I get this ALL the time at the office. People will call me for a bunch of different things as part of my job. At some point, they will ask for my email, or someone else's email or phone number. Then as start to give that information, they will suddenly cut me off so they can find a pen. Well what the hell were you doing the last five minutes of the call? Were they relying on memorizing whatever help I was giving them and then realized they couldn't remember an email or phone number? And who asks for specific information without FIRST getting a pen or pencil so you could write said information down?

Personally, I make sure I have a pen and paper ready before I even MAKE a phone call where I'd be asking for information.

fumbling for your wallet and then when she hands you $.43 in change you start digging in your pocket to see if you have $.57 in nickels and pennys.

Right?
Am I right?

Same bus, every day. And every day, a woman would get on at a stop two down from mine and she'd never have her bus card ready. So, she had go rummaging through her handbag, which was the size of a small country. Every bloody time!!!!
