What's Irish bacon? 🥓

What's Irish bacon? I asked to the cashier at the corner breakfast place.
Cashier: it's as if ham and bacon had a baby.

It’s an American product where the lean eye of a pork loin is cured like bacon.

Irish bacon also comes from the loin, but includes fattier parts of the back. So yes, similar but more genuine in origin.
