Selfish in that I would not be getting any more fantastic songs. What a shame. Just married with a kid on the way. Career taking off..
I had a buddy flying in a small commuter thru the same storm that took Jim Croce's life. He said it was brutal with the plane bouncing all over the place and dropping like a stone at times..
I was selfish mad when Stevie Ray Vaughn died also....Oh and George Harrison... Him I cried..
Grew up listening to his music... touched my soul like the others.

Nebraska. He was appearing live in a performance in a medium sized city, and I heard that on the radio, (I was traveling alone) pulled off and went to the event to see him live and sing. I think he had one more guitar player, and maybe another singer...not sure. He performed for over an hour and half. Afterwards I continued west to see the monument with the presidents (Mount Rushmore) . I had seen him before ,live in concert in Chicago, but was glad to see him again out west. When he died in a plane crash a few months later, I was stunned, and depressed. His music was beautiful and words very special to me.
