Apologies to those of you who love going on a cruise. They're not my thing. I probably shouldn't have gone to see "The Poseidon Adventure" when I was a kid.

(26,291 posts)The best vacation I ever took was a Trans-Atlantic cruise on the Queen Elizabeth II. I met Hermes Pan, on the cruise. He was Fred Astaire's choreographer, among others. I spent an evening drinking cocktails, with him, while he told some amazing stories about old Hollywood.
I remember standing out of the deck, on night, under a brilliant full moon. An absolutely breathtaking thing to see, while floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
