So, is anybody excited that they're bringing back "Dallas"? (Original Post) sinkingfeeling Jun 2012 OP
From the promos... are they going to be interacting with a cardboard cutout of Larry Hagman? MiddleFingerMom Jun 2012 #1

But I love that they brought back JR & Bobby. I think Cliff is back too. Not sure why Pam isn't returning unless it was because Victoria Principal wasn't available. But that doesn't mean she may not return in a later episode.

I had read that they were going to make a "Dallas" movie with John Travolta playing JR. I'm glad that is not happening because Larry Hagman is JR - no one else should ever play him. It's hard to imagine that Larry Hagman is a major liberal in RL although he plays the ideal right-wing nutjob on "Dallas"

She quit well before the end of the first run of Dallas, so I imagine there may have been some "bad blood"...

I grew up in Dallas and I love watching shows from there and seeing places I've been.

I once even ended up in front of Southfork ranch - I got lost on a delivery and next thing I knew, I was looking up at the famous gate.

I've only been back twice in almost 30 years though so I might not even recognize places I know...

I saw a reunion show (was there more than one?) and didn't think it was very good. The focus on the younger generation might be interesting. Not sure about Bobby's new wife... it's wait and see on that one.

I'm in the mood for a good soap since they cancelled All My Children.

Didn't she have a fatal illness and left the show so she wouldn't die in front of Bobby and her son?

. . . and they insist that J. R. be made into a hero.

Of course, those two assholes have such a warped idea of man's place in the universe that they probably thought J. R. was a hero anyway.

Shows how much you left coasters understand Dallas. Bobby was the evil one.

And I'm sure JR was in favor of the Designated Wacker, er... Hitter.
