(92,988 posts)In 2018 and 19 I helped a friend of mine at his property where he decided to grow a crop of hemp. I started out helping with the harvest the first year only to be recruited as consultant/forperson for the whole season last year.
This friend is a fan of Zappa and quotes him often, was also involved with bands like Widespread Panic and Aquarium Rescue Unit, a really intelligent and funny guy.
So as we were planting the crop last year he started telling me how Montana, this song, is his theme song for the farm since here we are in Montana and growing, essentially, string/rope. There were a good six months of jokes about it.
So I have been listening to this far more than I would have normally because of the hemp farm. It came out when I was still a road warrior and I would listen to this song as drove across the state... been a Zappa fan myself for as long as he's been famous.

(92,988 posts)he was a musical genius. I can't argue with that being a musician who favors quite a bit of music for its technical difficulty.
He was very talented.
