The time I got pulled over by a cop - Lottery ticket involved (?)

Years ago, stopped at my local coffee/donut store , standing in line with other early morning customers with a local cop behind me. At check-out decided to buy a lottery ticket. I requested one of the "scrap" tickets for $5. Scrap tickets are the ones left over at the end of a roll, returned tickets, or tickets that somehow left-over. Anyway, the clerk looked back at the cop and - rather reluctantly gave me the ticket.

I sat in my car, scrapped off the card and found I won $100. Pulled out of the parking lot got back on the street and in less than a block got pulled over by the same cop that was behind me. Said I had an expired renewal date on my tag (I didn't I just put it on the previous week). Warned me not to get out of the car, got my license and ran it for about 10 min. in his car. Returned it and said the computer made a mistake and it was O.K., but asked for proof of insurance and title. Idiot me, they were in a drawer at home so he wrote me up a ticket - for $100 (get that, won $100-ticket $100).

Still think to this day that lottery ticket was meant for that cop and the store was saving it for him.
