An excellent Friday in clinic, making up for a nightmare Thursday. I'm ready to hit the weekend...
I love you all...

thanks for the link.
I'm too plotzed to read anything heavy right now. But I'll save it for later...

(112,167 posts)I'm in envy of those like yourself who can get some CBD oil from a dispensary.
I'll be mixing up grapefruit juice with vodka after I put clothes in the dryer. Unfortunately, my baggie runneth empty, but a delivery is coming tomorrow.
Best wishes from Aggieland.

(66,329 posts)It will be a few hours before it's at full-strength. I upended the bottle and finished off what was at the bottom. I need to get some more...
My dad took me and my brother to College Station once. We played Nerf football right out on the Aggie field. My first close-up experience with Astroturf. Having played on grass my entire life, I shuddered in horror at the idea of playing football on an abrasive green carpet spread out over concrete.

(112,167 posts)While by blood runs black and gold for Southwestern, I was also accepted and awarded a scholarship at UT (plus I was a Longhorn in high school). I lived within five miles of I-35 for the majority of my life, so I don't expect to ever go to an Aggie game.
I'm anxious for my care package to arrive. It should be here in 11-12 hours, but I was did scrounge up just enough from my stash box to catch a buzz. I needed it because my brother is spouting off his usual racist, right wing shit tonight.
The good news is that College Station is adopting a face mask requirement beginning Monday through at least July 10. I expect that Bryan (where I live) will also adopt one. We are running at nearly 1,500 cases in Brazos County (0.7% of the population) so I'm definitely being prudent in my adventures and interactions.

(5,640 posts)As cases rise in Texas and Trump ramps up his rhetoric regarding the racist remarks about the "kung flu", I get more worried about my wife and son venturing out and having to deal with the radicalized right here in Texas. Especially, since they wear masks and prefer to socially distance.
What can I do to help me calm down and what approach should I take when talking to my son and wife about venturing out?
My wife is Asian, so I worry a lot, so does she...
I hope this does not harsh your buzz...you did say ask you anything.

(66,329 posts)Right-wingers are alarmingly obtuse and contrary. Nothing one could say could make the slightest dent in their ignorance. I'm worried now about the safety of your wife and son. Repukes don't care about anyone or anything. Ever since Ronald Reagan gave them permission to be disempathetic, they have grown more monstrous, more angry, more aggressive, more murderous.
Tell them to wear their masks when out in public. Tell them to avoid the spit-sprayers and anger-junkies. Tell them to record anyone who impedes them for any reason. Right-wingers are their own kind of virus; they can't be reasoned with, they can't be appealed to, and they don't care who they kill...

(66,329 posts)I regret I didn't get a chance to visit Edinburgh when I was in Scotland. FWIW, I got to visit Glasgow; I would rather have traded.
Maybe someday...

As for me, I think my traveling days are pretty much over

(66,329 posts)She's never left the continent of North America, except for two cruises to Hawaii, but those don't really count.
She doesn't think she can bear the flight. She can do short hops of a couple of hours, but the prospect of an eight-hour flight to Europe has her terrified.
ailsagirl
(22,896 posts)First off, I am a nervous flier because you just don't know what might happen.
Secondly, it is a long haul and I become bored after a few hours (after I have exhausted my reading material and listened to music).
But the flight home seems quicker than the flight there-- at least for me.
She'll love it!

(23,975 posts)I am back from furlough, working just 2 mornings a week, and was reminded today why I did not miss seeing teenage girls while I was off.
My boss told me today that they are anticipating being short on staff nurses for the immediate future, and said that the docs and I will have to takeover the nursing job of rooming the patients - measuring, taking vital signs, and basic history for the reason for the visit. Then she asked if I would be wiling to administer immunizations. My work settings since 1976 have been such that the staff nurses have been the ones to give the shots. I order them, the nurses prepare and give them. It has probably been more than 40 years since I last stuck a needle into someone. No interest in going back to that.
I told her NO! I thought, but did not say, Hell, no!
I should also ask about any increase in reimbursement. If I am going to do a large part of the nurses jobs, as well as my own job, shouldnt I get paid more? Probably not likely.

(66,329 posts)There are so many privileges I enjoy as a P.A. Even though the burden of decision-making is higher than when I was an M.A., obviously, it's nice to be able to delegate the small stuff.

And are you, like me, a Never Ever Trumper?

(66,329 posts)To both. I love bangers and mash.
Not three minutes from my house is a British-themed bistro and gift shop. They serve the best bangers and mash. That and a nice pot of tea make for an excellent lunch.
Never, ever Trump...
