POLICE: MAN JUMPS ON MOVING TRACTOR TRAILER ON FLORIDA TURNPIKE IN BOYNTON

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com)(Source: Florida Highway Patrol Verbatim Advisory) — At approximately 1:01 PM, The Florida Highway Patrol received a call reference a white male that was driving a Toyota SUV with a male passenger traveling southbound on the Florida’s Turnpike around the 86 Mile Post. According to the passenger, the driver began acting strange and stopped the vehicle southbound on the exit ramp to Boynton Beach, exited the vehicle, and began walking on the highway.

As the white male walked on the highway, he then jumped the median concrete wall from the southbound side and onto the northbound side causing traffic to slow down. The white male then jumped on top of the hood of a Semi Tractor-Trailer that was on the northbound side and began striking the windshield with his hands.

The Semi-Tractor Trailer continued traveling northbound from the 86 mile post to around the area of the 95 mile post with the white male on top of the hood.

At that point the Semi Tractor-Trailer was intercepted by Trooper M. Jeffreys(473) who then detained the white male that was on top of the hood. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the white male to Wellington Regional Hospital for further evaluation. This case is still pending investigation.
