I truly need to vent

I am pissed when I see people talk about weather conditions like people should blow them off. I went through Katrina. People in Dallas just this year experienced devastating tornadoes that sent 18 wheelers in the air.

Who in the hell would say that you shouldn't be concerned by slow moving tropical storms forming in the Gulf, which is experiencing record high temperatures for the waters?

Mock us for being prepared? WTF? This was on DU, too! I guess we are over-fucking-reacting after we had Katrina come in.

I've never been in hurricane weather or experienced a tornado, but I have been around for some serious earthquakes in California, and weather is no laughing matter. Be safe, and I'll keep you and your neighbors in my thoughts.

I didn't think I was over reacting, but wanted to make sure. Please don't belittle us and our experience at rebuilding our community, and the horror we had in enduring it.

That's all I have so say, and it bugs me when people think we overreact when we take notice of a similar situation occurring. It was devastating.

Yet people think it's just some boring subject. It's incredible.

Take care of yourself and hopefully this storm won't cause damage. It's hard not to think about flooding and landslides though. And you know that sooner or later it'll happen.

We better start getting serious about climate change. It's already causing a lot of problems. Our future climate is going to dictate what our future history will be.

But my goodness. To be so callous and act like it is idiocy to watch the situation makes me intensely angry, after what we endured here during Katrina.

With all the horrible record breaking deadly weather we've had in this country in the last decade or so you'd think people would think before they ran their mouths.
