1. Canada has its own currency. It's disrespectful to expect everyone to accept US$

Most places will not accept U.S. currency unless they are real border towns, and sometimes not even then.

You can use U.S.-issued credit cards in Canada, and your debit card will work in Canada's ATMs if you want some cash.

2. Absolutely you can. Everyone takes US currency in Canadian tourist's areas.

'cause them their Kanadiens don't speak American and won't understand you if you don't.

Personally I usually just take cash out of the ATM when I get to Canada.

7. It's easier to change the money. You get the best exchange rate that way.

When you pay in U.S. dollars you tend to get shortchanged on the going exchange rate.
