I have a porcupine who comes to the same

place in my yard at almost the same time every afternoon. This is a wide open area on my lawn where he/she seems to be searching for something. The porc stays there for about an hour and then rambles back into the woods. I don't think there's anything in that area of the yard that would attract him/her, like salt.

Does anybody have any ideas/thoughts about this?

I got pretty geeked when I spotted raccoons and opossums on my back yard security camera. A porcupine would be an epic sighting.

I know I'm far too distant from and woodland for porcupines. I'd love to find some shed quills, though.

My niece just sent me a photo of a deer in her front yard. She lives in a very busy subdivision but is very close to a nature conserve. I've actually had deer in my yard, and I live right next to one of the biggest retail areas in the county. Nature just finds a way.

Maybe his home was there before. In my area they are gobbling up all the open space and many animals are displaced.

I love seeing them but am sad about the circumstances.
