No pears in the grocery store this morning.

I’m in NE Ohio. I like to make my own fruit baskets for a couple friends this time of year.

The produce dept. of my Giant Eagle grocery store had beautiful displays of at least 8 varieties of apples .... beautiful oranges .... grapefruits.... avocados ... pomegranates.... bananas .... not one pear. I asked a worker there where the pears were. She said, We don’t have any. I have never not seen pears in the grocery stores around Christmas. It’s not that big of a deal, but I thought it seemed strange. Is there a pear shortage?

almost no dryer sheets in the grocery store on Monday when I went. There were a few generic store brands left, but none of the name brands at all.

I've had Bosc, Bartlett, D'Anjou during the last couple of weeks. But we've been ordering groceries online so I'm not sure what the full degree of availability is in the stores. Presumably it is even greater variety.
