I worked the midnight shift when it ran sleeping from 2P to 10P when lucky. I think I only saw one when there was a lockdown of the WH with a bunch of school kids. President Bartlet gathered the children in the kitchen for snacks. He ate an apple with peanut butter. My favorite snack. I don't remember much of the story, but I was impressed by Bartlet behaving in a considerate, wise way to defuse the anxiety of a bunch of kids.

Every distributor that has a streaming service will eventually reel their properties back into the fold. Warner did this with Friends earlier this year. The Office is going back to NBC on Peacock.

A lot of Netflix content is Universal and Warner Bros so I wonder what will happen if Peacock ever gets rolling. I got to wonder if Warner will get the Arrowverse shows back eventually. It was stupid for Warner and Peacock to not have Roku and Fire already lined up prior to launch, but it was smart for Peacock to start out with a free tier. Warner dropping its 2021 slate onto HBO Max can be perceived as a desperate attempt to fix a botched HBO Max roll out.

(Sorry if I've offended cuz it or a player wasn't a priority/in the budget) - mea culpa, it's not nice to assume...

Skip the political treat and celebrate the kindness of your inner-child's faith in Santa with seasonal music, favorite positive memories, and a favorite beverage of choice - Wishes of Peace and goodwill to all, the energy of which...well, maybe!

When the kids were small, we'd go to the park Christmas Eve and feed the waterfowl and birds! Magical snowy weather once, so bad they closed the mall, much to Santa's frustration, and sent shoppers home, LOL; also, got a pic of the memory when a goose stole the kid's glove right off her hand, LOL! Then go back home to warm up with hot cocoa!

but my guy disconnected the DVD player a while back.

I'm also missing Season 1, which I loaned to a friend--along with a sizeable amount of money. Didn't get Season 1 or the money back. Some friend, eh?

Other than it being a fantasy, which viewers understand at the outset.

A lot of the young, up-and-coming Democrats say they were inspired to go in to public service because of The West Wing. That's the quality of people we get.

The repukes get whoever can spew hate the hardest...

That. That right there is my problem. It's bad political fan fic. Paints an unrealistic picture of what working in the Whitehouse is actually like and what our politics are actually like. It's not some polite debating society where our team outsmarts the Republicans.

It's just as bad as shows that inspire people to go to law school.

But bad?

It's one of the most well-written shows in television history. Most people are aware that it's fiction.

I stopped believing that the advertised image would equal the reality when I got Sea Monkeys at age six.

Plus, I'm willing to bet that most fans view it not as "The way it actually is" or even "The way it ought to be" so much as "The way it could be if we devote our efforts to it."

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that many of the aerospace engineers who got us to the Moon were inspired to study that discipline by bad 1940's and 50's science fiction.

Their embrace of fantasy helped bring about the reality.

Enough of a fan to point out where it goes off the rails at times. But also enough of a fan to stick up for what it does really well.

LOVE Sorkin (too.)

Don't have it where I live now most of the time; no Netflix, so eagerly awaiting arrival via HBO Max, which I get for 'free!?' via DirecTV.

But the kinds of things I mean (when AS was writing the show) are things like "I serve at the pleasure of the President" times four in 'Let Bartlet Be Bartlet'.

Or "God Bless America" times three in "The Mid-Terms".

But most of the time, Aaron Sorkin's writing sings at a very high range...
