Also, I would try tip the Kroger clerks... Insist, even though they state policy... Insist back, but be discreet.

Expressing your support, admiration, and well-wishes is often enough to make their day. But a small gift is a pretty nice show of gratitude!

I always put an envelope with a cash tip in my trunk labeled "TIP" for the person putting my order in the trunk. I didn't know it was against the rules. They have always taken it and I will continue to do so.

a carload of wonderful food from the folks on the route

He went through a large Mennonite community and they put their homemade sausages, cheese, pastries etc.

Everybody left him something over the course of that 2 weeks.

It was a serious haul; my mom froze most of it and we feasted on it all year

Definitely make some goodies

If I were to offer him a tip, it would be to find a more suitable line of work.

Packed some for my mail carrier, tucked in a Chocolate bar in a snowman wrapper and a little cash in a card. I didn't shop for Christmas wrapping this year, but I found a Walt Disney bag with a mailboc surrounded by Disney characters and Christmas decorations. He left me a thank you card Very nice!

Thank you for all of the helpful comments. I enjoyed reading through
