then I will rip the mirror out and hum it out the window, just in case.

I have generally looked at gone years with at worst a neutral feeling, usually I have been happy with the way the year developed.
This is new ground for me.

My celebration will be getting into bed with a good book at about 8:00 PM for a couple of hours, and sleeping through the festivities. I haven't watched the ball drop for several decades, the new year seems to come in without me just fine.
