1. Beautiful! What a planet.
At first I thought "crustal" was a typo and was going to make a joke about the U.S. Southern pronunciation of "crystal." Then I realized "pertaining to crust" would be "crustal."
As in "I have crustal cravings when it comes to pecan pie, but my nuttal cravings are stronger." ![]() |

3. You're quite the analogizer! Yes, that's a word I recently read in an anthology of The Best Science
Fiction Stores of 1977. I'm using it myself now for the first time!

4. Watching the video, I thought, ' where's the marshmallows?'
And then I started to read all the posts.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who went there. ![]() ![]() |

11. I actually think it LOOKS like my campfire marshmallows
Flames licking around in different spots as it blackens and gets all molten inside.
I’ve not been near a volcano but now I wonder if this would give off enough radiant heat to do a marshmallow from afar — away from the noxious fumes |

13. We were roasting marshmallow in the fireplace once when I was a kid. My marshmallow caught on
fire so I quickly raised it to blow it out. Unfortunately, I hit myself in the lip with the molten marshmallow and got a nasty burn. I've only been in volcanoes that were venting steam and sulfur fumes.

14. Yeah burning yourself is part of the ritual
It’s why I’ll never go near a volcano, since I cannot be trusted not to injure myself with marshmallows
