1. When we were in France, we got crepes in a pkg from the store.

They were totally awesome so we went back and got more. It was in August so a lot of the local patisseries were closed. Grocery stores in France are so much better than those here, they sold fresh sandwiches for 1 euro and we usually had those for lunch at one of the squares, think they were called plaz but it was 10 years ago so that could be wrong. Those sandwiches were so freaking good, the lettuce and tomato tasted just picked and the meat, cheese and bread were very fresh as well.

Best thing I had in France were 2 dinners at a hotel that was 600 years old, OMG! It was right next to the Medieval Cathedral de Notre Dame de Strausbourg where there was a light show with music and you could see clearly. The food was superb, the wine was the best I've ever had and sitting in this antique place with my husband and daughter and watching a laser light show - indescribable.

beats some upper end tequilas. And then there is their 4-layer, 10 pound, double fudge chocolate cake with an 1" thick icing .
