Anyone watch Outlander?

My husband was doing work in the mancave and I decided to keep him company, while watching the fifth season of Outlander. Somehow, that one got away from me last year. The episode was very compelling, with Claire and Jaime trying to retrieve Roger from the Indians. I was surprised to see my husband glancing up and following the show. Indeed, with all the background, historical information, it would have captured his attention, and this episode was working around known historical facts.

My husband was completely engaged in the show until Roger began singing the song, Jeremiah was bullfrog, or some other contemporary song.

"Okay, now that's not right," my husband says.

I then had to explain the time travel angle. As I expected, I felt like I was losing him, so I told him that it was in its fifth season and it was wildly popular. He seemed skeptical.

About the same time we reached the point in the show where everyone seemed to be getting laid after the Brianna-Roger wedding scene and I told him, "The first season was nothing but scenes like that one, only, imagine the main characters twenty years younger.

LOL! Whatever it takes.

....no movie is ever as good as the book for me......but go ahead and enjoy the series if you don't want to read the original stories - it is a LOT of reading! ......I thought they were outstanding! Sort of mind bending with the time travel.... but the details of daily life in those times, and the historical incidents were fascinating to me.
