UW did a very extensive study of corvids, and some of the results were incredible.

We kept hearing this eerie sound like water dropping but it wasnt. Turned the corner and saw a raven, the source of the sound!

In one test, they put a tall, small diameter cylinder of water in the cage, filled to a level that his beak wouldn't reach when he got thirsty. The bird's solution blew my mind.
He took pebbles and dropped them into the cylinder until the water level rose to where he could reach it. I quite literally know people that wouldn't think of that in any kind of short timeframe.
