Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI just saw a flatbed truck go past my house.
On the truck was a fairly late model van with all four wheels missing. Think about that.
I think I figured it out, but why would all four be gone?

(18,628 posts)It wasn't that kind of van. Just family transport, like a minivan

(1,896 posts)and the wheels were removed deliberately by the guy who had it. With a floor jack and an impact it's fairly quick to do, especially if he works around vehicles.

(18,628 posts)He probably thought he made it theft proof. What are they gonna do, drag it away? I don't know how he got it on the truck either, but that's his job.
I bet it made his daily commute hell though.

The only thing that I can be reasonably sure of is that he didn't want to be in that position. I hope it works out for him.

I get what you're saying, but repos have been going on for ages and for many different reasons. They came and took my Riviera back in the early '90s (The Cocaine Cruiser). I just waved goodbye because it wasn't a surprise. This guy, if that's what happened, was probably only slightly surprised to see it gone. Perhaps scratching his head as to how they pulled it off.

(55,008 posts)a few years ago there were a LOT of vans around. many times they would be run for miles on flat tires/rims. everybody around here was suddenly in the towing and storage business. we had around 20 at one point, still have a couple vans and pickups we hauled in. my favorite was the former airport shuttle (Ford 350) that was STILL RUNNING when border patrol chased the occupants into the hills. they told us to go ahead and take it (it was on our property) drove that van back to Mexico with a load of Germans one year. we had some adventures.
