I was going to plant my summer vegetables and herbs seeds this weekend, but...

...we're having a midweek freeze here in central New Jersey.

That sucks. It's beautiful weather today.

1. Weather in Michigan is taking a turn for the worse, until next weekend

Then it looks like thing will warm up into the upper 60's.

I've starting pepper, tomato and herb seeds, inside. Pretty soon I'll start the squash.

5. I would do the same were it not for the cat. I control her urges on the deck by planting...

...cat grass (but not catnip, lest she become a junkie); the cat grass keeps her busy through most of the summer.

She is decidedly not good with plants.

We have to be careful with indoor plants though, and all are placed in places she can't get.

7. Ha ha, smart! My dogs go for the Golden Rod, they seem to love this plant, and have munched

on it for years, all 3 of them, they can't get enough of it, it's like the catnip for dogs...

3. Well, the thyme and the oregano are at least. Last year's plantings have all resprouted.

I didn't realize that they're perennials, but apparently they are.

I'll bring them indoors for the freeze.

4. In northwest Ohio I never plant anything until after mothers day.

We still have frosts up until then.

6. I was always told not to plant sprouted tender veg until after May 15

That is supposed to be the real last possible day of frost in NY.
Although, English peas can have the seeds planted March 17.
That said, my thyme, oregano, sage and parsley are all already sprouted. I won’t set out my rosemary until May.
Tomatoes go out May 15.

8. Same here except...

I have to do my early seeds in starter sets indoors since we can't put anything in the ground until at least May. I just haven't had any energy since my vaccination last week.
