Coconut cake, to be specific.
I wonder what's going to happen.

(8,445 posts)I've wanted coconut cake for about three days now, but when I went to the store, they were all too big. I'm pretty sure nobody else in my family even likes coconut cake, so it won't do any good to get one and share.
My son feels the same way you do. If you've got a craving, satisfy it or it'll just linger there under the surface and you'll always feel deprived.
The trick, of course, is to just satisfy it and not be a glutton. Which I tend to be when it comes to cake.

(I cut up the cake into pieces, so I can just stop by the friend's house and pick up a piece. Friend does not mind.)
Rorey
(8,445 posts)I probably couldn't be that friend because I'd eat the cake.

(47,054 posts)But when I bring the cake over, the deal is that she can have a couple of slices if she wants.

(22,480 posts)cake seems like there isn't a lot of it around.
But you could google, "Coconut cake near me" and see what shows up. I've done that to find French onion soup.

(14,853 posts)As a German pimp / doorman said to me when I was 12 years old (visiting my older brother stationed over there), while I was staring at scantily-dressed prostitutes behind a large display window, "Go inside. You know you want it."
I didn't do it, but it's only cake in your case.
Rorey
(8,445 posts)Then that's my answer.
Actually, I'll probably check two stores.

(14,853 posts)Maybe he didn't realize I was so young?!
He could somehow tell that I was American, like pretty much every German over there, because he spoke English to me (with a German accent).
Or maybe he wanted to see if I'd even try, then stopping me while laughing about it?
My reaction was more like this:
It was on some street that was more like an alley. I drove my poor mother nuts because of my constant exploring, but I usually kept her in sight and then quickly caught up with her and Dad.

(8,445 posts)I really miss my dog when it comes to balancing cake and exercise. He forced me to do what I needed to do.
Dogs are good personal trainers.

(8,445 posts)Maybe next time I have a craving I'll do that.
I used to buy the mug cake mixes at the store until I realized how easy they are to make from scratch. So much cheaper too!
Thanks for the suggestion!
