The parents I know are smart, educated people whose efforts keep a great deal of the world afloat, often for no pay and little appreciation. We have technical skills, we volunteer in droves, we dont have bad boundaries and Dr. Rick can bite me. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Yeah, I know what a Ted Talk is.

(46,125 posts)All of the ones that fill people full of lies about "new Medicare benefits" that are obviously false. Joe Namath features in some of them.
The ones where Tom Selleck takes umbrage at the suggestion he might sell American seniors something that could cause them to lose their home.
I hit the mute button as fast as I can.

(102,491 posts)Seems most of them are for insurance. That one is Progressive and the ones driving me nuts right now are the stupid, not-funny Geico ads where the female voice "of the house or apartment" whines about ridiculous issues. Bring back the damned gecko. At least those were cute.

Insurance companies got into a competition for strange ads and I dont hate that, but some bomb.

It must be something with the Liberty commercials in general. The wet teddy bear vendor was weird and unfunny on the first viewing, just like the kid in the large phone costume jumping into the comically large ziploc bag of rice.

(2,113 posts)When my husband fast forwards thru the commercials, I actually make him go back when these are on so I can watch them.
"They're not programs, they're TV shows."
"You woke up early. No one cares."
"We all see it. We aaaaaalll see it."
Comedy GOLD, baby! LOL

Flo was cute for a while, but that schtick has been overdone. Same for most "series" commercials.
In real life, I find it irritating when a young person tries to tell me something about computers. I have a bachelor of science in computer science, programmed mainframes and networks, and I'm certified in SQL. And I refuse to be chained to my cell phone, thank you very much. I have voicemail that works when I don't answer. I do not have to hop to whenever someone punches certain numbers into their handheld computer. So there!
