Pup adopts rescue kitten, protects her from other dog

1. I got my cat from a coworker who had

the mother, and an older half brother of my kitten, plus a dog. My kitty was the runt of her litter and the last one left. At 9 weeks, she was the size of a 6 week old kitten. Her older half brother had attacked her once so the dog took over protecting her. While I was at the house to pick up my kitty, she curled up under the dog's chin and leaned against his chest. He leaned forward over her until my coworker reached down to put the kitten in the carrier that I had brought with me.

The dog had seen the other kittens from the litter taken away by strangers so he seemed to understand what was happening. He got upset and stood by the carrier whimpering, followed me to the door, and whined pitifully as I was leaving with "his" baby.
